Yuzu requires you to own a Switch and the games. this bothers me for weeks now : many games run fine on my Gsync 144hz monitor but when i play a certain period of time i notice a sudden FPS drop and stays around that lower fps number. After seeing some benchmarks on YouTube, the high fps is what I'm supposed to get all the time but for some reason I need to alt-tab a lot of time just to get to that point. The emulator is currently booting quite a few commercial titles, including some 3D rendered ones. However when I alt-tab multiple times (or fast enough, I still haven't figured it out), the game will see a significant improvement in fps. I'm using a 165hz refresh rate monitor with G-Sync enabled, all settings on max and also using the Vulkan renderer. I fixed it by going to Nvidia control panel -> Manage 3D Settings -> Select your game from the dropdown -> Set. Occurs randomly and intermittently, but definitely recurrently. FPS doesn't move from 23 at all if i continue to move around. It is written in C++ with portability in mind, with builds actively maintained for Windows, Linux and macOS. FPS will drop from a locked 165 down to exactly 23 until i tab out and tab back in. ![]() Yuzu (lower case 'y') is an experimental open-source emulator for the Nintendo Switch from the creators of Citra.
